Gingerbread Project by Amber Zinn – German IV

Amber Zinn’s German IV Gingerbread Project is currently on display at the Adams County Arts Council in Gettysburg during the annual Gingerbread Festival, taking place December 5th, 6th, and 7th. We encourage you to stop by this weekend to enjoy the exhibit and support her work!

Amber was inspired by the iconic “Fernsehturm” (TV Tower) at Alexanderplatz in Berlin, Germany, creating a festive gingerbread interpretation of the famous landmark.

Interesting Facts:

The Alexanderplatz is a major public square in central Berlin known for its history and landmarks. It is home to the 365-meter TV Tower (Fernsehturm).

The Christkindlmarkt on Alexanderplatz is one of the busiest in Berlin.

Berliner Bears: The bear has been a symbol of Berlin since at least 1280, appearing on its flag and coat of arms to represent the city. Since 2001, painted sculptures of bears have been a common sight throughout the city as part of the "Buddy Bear" art project. These bears symbolize international cooperation.
